Everette Earl Ammons, 78, of Bakersfield, CA, passed away December 31, 2016.
Born in Winston Salem, NC, he was the son of the late Ralph Richard Ammons and Edith Faye Hughes Ammons. Everette spent many years in underground construction; working all across the nation, he supervised the completion of "Boston Big Dig" and was a consultant for Tudor Saliba. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Rosalee Moffitt Ammons; two children, Melanie Davis and husband Gene of Bakersfield, CA and Jeff Ammons and wife Cindy of Escanaba, MI; one brother, James Ammons and wife Ethel of Franklin; one sister, Faye Needham of Mt. Airy, NC; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Don Moffitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Clay Davis, Michael Davis, Gene Davis, Luke Moffitt, David Moffitt, Jeff Ammons and Justin Moffitt.
