Evelyn C. Gardner, 90, of New Bern, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

Born in Clifton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank D. Huber and Cora Martin Huber. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Percy E. Gardner and brother, Fred Huber. Evelyn was a Bookkeeper and Accounts Receivable Clerk for Lehn & Fink Production Corp. in Bloomfield, NJ for 15 years. She loved to crochet and make pine needle baskets. She was a member of Highland Christian Park Church in New Bern, NC.

Evelyn is survived by two children, Douglas Gardner and wife Joyce of Huntington Station, NY and Dawn Gardner Weigle and husband Steven of Redmond, WA; nephews, Charlie Keeley and wife Patty of Franklin and Frank Keeley of Union, CT; three nieces, Frances Beck and husband David of New Bern, NC and Cathy Huber of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Katie Gardner, Timmy Gardner and Justin Weigle and several great nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Trull and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. A Memorial Service will also be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008 at the New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern, NC. Rev. Major W. Lane will officiate. Her remains will be interred with her late husband, Percy E. Gardner at the New Bern National Cemetery.
