Ester Lee Broom, 82, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Ensley and Ida Parton Ensley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Broom; son, Kenneth Leland Broom; daughter, Debra Broom Jennings; sisters, Peggy Anders, Edna Ensley Mathis, Ella Mae Whiteside and June Ensley; and brothers, Howard Ensley, Denny Ensley and Harry Ensley. Ester was a member at Big Ridge Bible Baptist Church. She loved her church, and enjoyed doing activities at Eckerd Living Center, which included Bingo, Bowling, and Bible studies.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Baird (Jack) of Franklin and Cynthia Broom of Glenville, NC; twin sister, Genevieve Broom of Fredrick, MD; son-n-law, Mike Machnik of Franklin; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Mountain Bible Church on Big Ridge Road, Glenville, NC. Rev. Charlie Jones and Rev. Scottie Patrick will officiate. Burial will follow at Big Ridge Bible Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lee Butler, Jason Smith, Steve Bailey, Ben Bailey, Jerry Tanner, and Brian Broom.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
