Erwin John Gribble, Sr., 74, of Otto, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Audell and Altha Brackett Gribble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mitchell Gribble and two granddaughters, Jadea and Jori Gregory. Erwin worked as a maintenance supervisor for Fruit of the Loom and was a founding member of Otto Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a member of the Macon Aero Modelers Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eloise Cabe Gribble of Otto; two children, Benita Gregory and husband Tony of Franklin and Johnny Gribble and wife Gina of Otto; one brother, Lonnie Gribble and wife Darlene of Franklin; one sister, Shirlene Waldroop of Hayesville; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Bill Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of Otto Volunteer Fire Department. Retired members of Otto VFD and members of the Macon Aero Modelers Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
