Ernie "Frank" Joe Mayhorn Jr., 42, of Franklin, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009.
Born in Logan Co. West Virginia, he was the son of the late Ernie Clinton Mayhorn and Yvonne Marie Bartram Mayhorn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirl Lynn Mayhorn who died in 2007 and brother, Harold Mayhorn who died in 1965. Frank moved to Franklin in 1986 and attended Franklin House of Prayer. He was a member of the For Them Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sheron Lewis Mayhorn; seven children, Harold Shane Mayhorn of Franklin, Michelle Marie Mayhorn of Franklin, Chandra Kemp of Sylva, Michael Shane Bates of Taylorsville, NC, Richard Kayleb Bates, Aaron Keaton Bates and Sean Jacob Mayhorn all of Franklin; brother, Clinton David Mayhorn of Morganton, NC; grandson, Luke Debarre; several nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at the Franklin House of Prayer, where the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jim Byrd, Rev. Gary McDaniel Sr., Rev. Gary "Lynn" McDaniel Jr. and Rev. Bryon Lamb will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Harry Gasch, Danny Green, Billy Lewis, Austin Lewis, Greg Carpenter, Jerry Knight and Willie Carrion.
