Erna Letitia Colfer, 86, of Franklin, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010.

Born in West Palm Beach, FL, she was the daughter of the late Edward Johnston and Stella Newell Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Colfer who died in 1999. Erna was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by a son, Wayah Knight of Franklin; two step-sons, William J. Colfer and wife, Brenda of Manhattan Beach, CA and Gerald Michael Colfer and wife Earlyne of Soquel, CA; one granddaughter, Alicia Heppding of Randallman, NC; one great grandson, Christian Heppding; and a grand niece, Erin L. Chabez and husband, Matt.

Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
