Obituary

Elinor Joyce "Joy" Brown, 72, of Otto, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at home surrounded by her family.

A native of Sparks, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Thomas and Mary Odette Parrish Harnage. After graduating at Morgan High School in Lyons County, GA, she attended Business School in Albany, GA. Until her extended illness she was an active member of Asbury Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and former member of Otto Community Development, Otto Senior Citizens, Otto Garden Club and a Hospice Volunteer.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Ray Brown; three daughters, Roxanne Chambless and Bill of Otto, Melissa Fitzgerald and David Frazier of Franklin, Vanessa Cook and Rick of Franklin; two brothers, Jack and Dwight Harnage of Jacksonville, FL; and one sister, Nell Johnson of Ray City, GA; six grandchildren, Danielle Chambless, Christopher Chambless, Michael Fitzgerald, Heather Fitzgerald, Lucas Cook and Taylor Cook; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 17, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Jerome Hamm will officiate. Burial will be in the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at Macon Funeral Home.

Her grandchildren and Russell McConnell of Sylva will serve as Pallbearers.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
