Effie Mae Childers Mann, 89, of Franklin, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Porter Childers and Sarah Leopard Childers. She was married to the late Horace P. Mann who died August 1976. Effie was a member of Longview Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Raby of Clayton, GA; two sons, Charles Mann of Franklin, NC and Jackie Mann of Marietta, GA; one brother, Bill Childers of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Jane Rich of Asheville, NC and Wilma Edwards of Emporia, VA; six grandchildren, Anthony Mann of Snellville, GA, Lisa Reed of Stone Mountain, GA, Kelly Claflin of Marietta, GA, John Allen Raby, Greg Mann and Alicia Teague all of Franklin; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wiley Gibson and Rev. Frank Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in the Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Mann, Greg Mann, John Allen Raby, Andrew Raby, Tim Teague and David Cabe.

Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
