Edwin C. Chapman, Sr., 79, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010.

Born in Wethersfield, CT, he was the son of the late Thomas Chapman and Elizabeth Williams Chapman. In addition, he was preceded in death by son-n-law, Jerry Jernigan and ten brothers and sisters, Sally Kuhn, Thomas Chapman, Phyllis Carew, Blossom Kaczynski, Virginia Pierson, Jeannine Pitkin, Patricia Peete, Donald Chapman, James Chapman and Bernard Chapman. He was a US Marine Corp veteran; a real estate appraiser and broker and was a member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. Edwin was a loving, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed home renovation projects and hiking.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Norma Jeanne Sterling Chapman; three children, Edwin Charles Chapman and wife Michele of Leesburg, VA, Paula Elaine Chapman Jernigan of McDavid, FL and Tammy Lurrene Chapman Buckner and husband Brian of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Joyce Gesualdi and Beverly Dillon both of Wethersfield, CT and Hope Varricchio of Cromwell, CT; seven grandchildren, Craig Jernigan, Heather Jernigan Findley, Lauren Chapman Salinas, Ashley Chapman,, Edwin Charles Chapman, III, Brian Buckner, Jr. and Jordan Buckner; and two great grandchildren, Jacob Findley and Brysen Findley.

A Private Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Bass will officiate. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
