Edgar L. Younce, Sr, 90 of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Granville L. Younce and Laura Duvall Younce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Blanche Crisp Younce (July 25, 2018); brother, Paul Younce and sister, Ruth Crisp. Edgar was a very active member and deacon of Windy Gap Baptist Church for 43 years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie (Gloria) and Randy (Lisa), both of Franklin; three grandchildren, Autumn (Allen) Corbin and Robbie Younce, both of Franklin, and Craig Younce of Charlotte; five great-granddaughters, McKenzee McCoy of Boone, Rylee Corbin and Bentlee Corbin of Franklin, Paisley Younce of Warner Robins, GA, and Graycen Younce of Charlotte; sisters, Frances Waldroop of Franklin, Lois Farnham of Icard, NC and brother, Joe "Moody" Younce of Flint, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 6, at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Brian Browning will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Ben West, Dean Cook, Bobby Peek, Coleman Buchanan, Johnny Pendergrass, Derrell Gregory, Mark Holland and Adam Tallent.
