Edd Lake Shope, 82, of Otto, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

Born in Otto, he was the son of the late Fred Shope and Maude Conley Shope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Smith Shope; grandson, Michael J. Shope; brothers and sisters, Frank McCall, John Shope, Joe Shope and Mary Shope. Edd was a retired US air Force veteran and retired from Western Carolina University. He was a member of the Baptist Men's Association; he volunteered with disaster relief efforts and was always helping others. Edd enjoyed bowling and was a member of Coweeta Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Ruth Shope of Winder, GA; son, Edd Wayne Shope and wife Tamma Pennington Shope of Raleigh, NC; brother, Conley Shope of Otto, twin brother, Jess Shope of Athens, GA and two grandchildren, Madison E. Shope of Raleigh and Taylor M. Shope of Winder, GA.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15th at Coweeta Baptist Church. Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Alton Dendy will officiate. Burial and military rites will be at Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14th at Macon Funeral Home.
