Earl Reeves, 77, died February 12, 2013. Mr. Reeves was born in Franklin, NC to the late James "J.C." and Lorraine Patterson Reeves. He was a veteran, having retired from the US Navy following 23 years of service and later worked for the US Postal service for 15 years. Mr. Reeves was a member of Burningtown Baptist Church in Franklin, NC but had been attending Great Bridge Baptist Church. He was a member of the D.A.V., enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and had a passion for woodworking. Mr. Reeves was predeceased by 9 siblings and a grandchild, Ryan.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; children, Kenneth Earl Reeves (Christie) of Mt. Holly, NC, Alan "Dale" Reeves (Tammy) of Chesapeake and Susan Diane "Suzie" Reeves of Kitty Hawk, NC; sister, Geneive Gibson of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Corey, Melissa, Courtney, Jessica, Megan, Emily, Jason, and Sydnie; great-grandchildren, Lanie, Camryn and Taolin; and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm on April 6 at Burningtown Baptist Church. Rev. Randy Drinnon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
