Earl Herbert Cabe, 85, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at a local hospital.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Clarence Weaver and Eva Moses Cabe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma C. Taylor and Bertha Cabe and two brothers, Gene Cabe and Ernest Perry Cabe. Mr. Cabe was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He served his country proudly with the US Army during the Korean Conflict in the 24th Infantry Division. He received the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Stars and Purple Heart.
He is survived by two brothers, Arthur (Annie Ruth) Cabe and James Robert (Jane) Cabe of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Iris C. Alderman of Albany, GA and Shirley C. Hodnett (Leroy) of Winder, GA, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21st in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Alderman and Rev. Bud Haire will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
