Douglas Arthur Peek, 71, of Franklin passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Bulen Neil Peek and Nellie Hedden Peek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Grendell, Morley and Sterling and his companion of 30 years, Margaret Lovell who died December 4, 2012. Doug was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived his son, Kevin Peek and wife Leslie of Prince Frederick, MD; his daughter, Kathleen Peek of Chicago; two brothers, Harold Peek of Middleburg, FL and Leroy Peek of Franklin; three sisters, Christine Parrish of Franklin, Maxine Shepherd of Candler and Doris Crane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 3, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
