Dorothy G. Welch, 80, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Born in Hackleburg, AL, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Martin Evans and Della Howard Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dover D. Welch who died in 2005 and a daughter, Judy Anne Welch Griffith. She was a member of Rose Creek Baptist Church. Dorothy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by five children, Teena L. Welch of Franklin, Perry Lynn Welch of Franklin, Michael Welch of California, Richard C. Welch of Costa Rica and Jeffery Welch of Franklin; two sisters, Essie Mae Conkle of Pontiac, MI and Ola Radford of Baldwin, MS; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 4, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Morris Tippett will officiate. Burial will be in the Moore Welch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 3, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Rose Creek Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
