Dorothy Mae Spooner Houston, 94, of Cocoa, FL, and formerly of Highlands, entered into rest Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in Cocoa, Florida.
A native of Baker, Oregon, she was the daughter of the late John Spooner and Bertha Zachary Spooner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James T. Houston who died in 1971; two sons, Richard Houston, John Houston, and one daughter, Marveta Dalton. Mrs. Houston lived in Highlands for over 85 years, retiring as a live in companion. She was also a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Inman of Cocoa, FL; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; and fifteen great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, at Buck Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Johnny Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Highlands Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday, August 19, at Buck Creek Baptist Church.
Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Gary Dalton, Paul Dalton, Chet Speed, Shane Keener, Drew Houston, Chris Houston.
