Obituary
Dorothy Morgan Guffey, 94, of Franklin, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018.
Born in Macon County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Morgan and Clara Daves Morgan; husband, Edgar "Bud" Guffey; daughter, Wanda Hill; six brothers and sisters; and grandson, Todd Allen Cook. Dorothy was a charter member of Wells Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Dorkus Sunday School class and other ladies' church groups. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and working with flowers.
She is survived by three children, Joyce Guffey Cook (Jackie) of Franklin, Eddie Guffey (Judy) of Bluff City, TN and Diane Johnson (Keith) of Piedmont, AL; son-in-law, Joe Hill of Piedmont, AL; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Wells Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
