Dorothy M. (Cricket) Crews (Aunt Dot)
Dorothy May Crews, 98, of Franklin, passed away peacefully at her home March 7th, 2012.
Born February 19th, 1914 in Medford Massachusetts to the late Augustus and Kathryn Wackrow. She was the wife of the late Hugh G. Crews (deceased 1984). Dorothy resided in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and retired from Saks Fifth Avenue (Sunrise). She had several homes in Franklin, NC and was a resident of the Watauga Vista Community for 30 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Rudy Wackrow, her niece Carol "Bryan" Wyatt and her nephew David A. Wackrow.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver Beve. Bryan Cheatham and her husband Buddy, her nieces Edwynna Wackrow, Carmen Godwin, Jamie Wackrow and their families and her nephew Ed Wackrow and family, also extended cousins and family and a very special friend Patricia Matteson.
Per Dorothy's request, no services are planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be at Lauderdale Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Macon County Humane Society or the Macon County Humane Society Thrift Shop PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744.
