Dorothy R. Bowles, 88, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Thursday, April 6, 2006.

Born in Glade Spring, VA, she was the daughter of the late Martin Rosenbaum and Sally Barker Rosenbaum. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David A. Bowles who died in 1993; and four brothers, Delma, Walter, Fred, Clyde and French. Dorothy has been a resident of Macon County since 1987 moving from Venice, Florida. She was a member of Venice Presbyterian Church, Venice, FL.

She is survived by two sons, William T. Bowles of Franklin and David A. Bowles, Jr. of Sarasota, FL; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Martin R. Rosenbaum, Jr.; and two sisters, Virginia Ramsey and Sarah Hackler.

Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Macon Funeral Home.
