Doris R. Singer, of Franklin, passed away in Hollywood, Fl. on February 1, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old.
Born in New York, she retired from Miami-Dade Junior College in 1981 and moved to Franklin with her husband, Robert, who preceded her in death in 2004. They called Franklin their 'home' because of all of the wonderful friends and neighbors they had there.
Doris was very active through volunteer activities, particularly at Angel Hospital, and through golf with the Carolina Mountain Golfer's Association. She loved being with her family and enjoyed flowers, animals, and golfing. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by six children, several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franklin, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA or any animal care center of your choice.
