Doris Ann Haggard, 70, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 after a period of declining health.

Born in Clarkesville, GA; she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Marcella McMahan Wikle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by daughter, Cathy Jo Wood; brother, Paul Wikle and a grandchild, Katie Marie Wood.

Doris loved working puzzles, coloring and going to flea markets; but the thing she cherished most was spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Wood; children, Brian Edward Haggard (Amanda) of Franklin, Christopher James Haggard (Diana) of Otto, NC, Jason Travis Haggard of Franklin, NC, Jessica Scruggs (Darin) of Franklin, NC, Melvin Wood Jr. (Michelle) of Sylva, NC, Ray Wood (Dee) of Franklin, NC, Kirsty Dills (Andrew) of Franklin, NC, Justin Haggard (Natasha) of Franklin, NC, and Whitney Haggard of Waynesville, NC; siblings, Janie Powers of TN, Sandy Cox of TN, Olin Wikle of TN, Johnny Wikle of FL, Dean Allen of TN, Karen Harness of TN and Mark Wikle of TN. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life will be 2pm on Sunday, November 21, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Carver will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1pm till 2pm, prior to the service.
