Donald Smith, 64, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2007.

A native of Columbia, SC, he was the son of Margaret Bannister Smith and the late Adam Leonard Smith. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Emma "Ellie" Smith who died February 6, 2005. Donald was a US Air Force Veteran; and he had worked at Franklin Lanes as a mechanic repairman. He was a member of Rose Wood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC.

Surviving are his mother, Margaret Smith; six children; one brother, Frank L. Smith of West Columbia, SC; and one sister, Jane S. Privette of Hartsville, SC.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Solomon, Rev. Jim Kinard, and Rev. Lloyd Fish officiate. Burial will be in the Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the Funeral Home.
