Donald James LaBauve ("Jim") of Tuscaloosa, Alabama died suddenly on July 27, 2021, at the age of 74. Jim grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana and attended Tulane University and LSU Law School. He was a partner at Broadhurst, Brook, Mangham, Hardy and Reed in Lafayette, Louisiana and later served as General Counsel at Aquila Gas Company and Energy Transfer in San Antonio, Texas.
Jim was an avid tennis player and golfer, lover of art, music and Cajun cooking. He was a fly-fishing enthusiast with unconventional teaching methods and delighted in sharing his passions with others. He was loved and will be greatly missed
Jim is survived by his daughter Katie Jane LaBauve, son-in-law Max Rochas and grandchildren Oliver and Eloise; sisters Carolyn and Marilyn; brother Mickey; stepson David Newburn; numerous nieces and nephews; and of course, the Tulane guys. He is predeceased by his wife Angela, younger brother Terry, and both parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice (that Jim would approve of!).
