Laverne Clouse Howard, 80, of Franklin, NC, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Avery Clouse and Dorothy Hyatt Clouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Perry Howard and a son, Rick Howard.

She is survived by a sister, Joyce Monteith of Colorado; three grandchildren, Rich Howard, Meredith Howard Baker and Sarah Baker; six great grandchildren, Isaiah McGimsey, Joshua Baker, Daniel Baker, Adam Baker, Carlee Baker and Ava Baker; several nieces and nephews and special cousins, of the Holland family also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
