Charles Richard "Dick" Wallace, 69, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Edwin Wallace and Susan McClure Wallace, also deceased. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Bair Wallace, a daughter, Angela (Rick) Phillips, a beloved grandson, Spencer Edwin Phillips, and five siblings: Susan (Conrad) Clark of Franklin, Mary Ann (Paul) Hendricks of Kings Mountain, NC, and brothers George (Karen) Wallace of Hendersonville, Mike (Barbara) Wallace of Greenville, SC, and Mac (Debbie) Wallace of Columbus, NC.
Dick was a US Army veteran. He was employed as a manufacturing manager by CR Industries in Franklin until his retirement. He was tireless in his efforts to be of help to others, without needing recognition or reward. He was widely known for his ready smile and love of laughter. He enjoyed Panther sports in the company of his grandson and attending Morrison Presbyterian Church where he was an elder.
Visitation will be at First Methodist Church in Franklin beginning at noon on Saturday, March 5th with the funeral to follow at 2:00PM. Pallbearers will be Matt Wallace, Adam Wallace, Chad Wallace, Paul Hendricks Jr., Will Hendricks and Court Mealins.
