On Sunday, January 20, 2019, Diane Janine (Jan) Bartholomew, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 55 following a brief illness.

Jan was born on May 29, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA to Jim and Joyce (Sullivan) Drake. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1981 and on September 16, 1985, was married to Larry W. Bartholomew of Transfer, PA. Together they raised two daughters, Amanda and Samantha.

Well known for her beautiful smile and her kind and loving spirit, Jan was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed camping, hiking, boating, fishing and target shooting with handguns. She loved caring for her pets, cooking and creating homemade bath and body products as gifts for friends and family.

Jan was preceded in death by her mother Joyce. She is survived by her father Jim of Franklin, NC; husband, Larry Bartholomew of Franklin, NC; children, Amanda McNeill (Nick) of Kingston, MA; Samantha Scott (Nick) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Isabella McNeill and Oliver McNeill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private viewing for friends and family will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 25th at Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC, followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon and Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Friday, January 25th at Discover Church of Franklin. The Rev. Ben Windle will officiate.
