Obituary
Delbert Lyman George, 86, of Franklin, NC and Englewood, FL passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008.
Born in Derby Line, Vermont, he was the son of the late Burham J. George and Cora Tabor George. Delbert was a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII and was a mechanical engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Macie Jones George; daughter, Cheryle McDonagh of Randolph, Mass.; son, Delbert George, Jr.; granddaughter, Eva George of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two great grandchildren, Vanessa and Paula George; great great granddaughter, Amaria; two step sons, Steven Winkelman of Minneapolis and David Marsh of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step daughters, Cynthia Jillett of Pearland, Texas and Jean Kendrick of Sarasota, FL; niece, Connie Voci of Taunton, MA, and nephew, Grant DeRoche of Franklin, NC.
Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Hartford, Vermont.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Macon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Home Health and Hospice, 70 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
