Dean Paul Williams, 61, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011.

Born in Berkshire, MA, he was the son of Marie Lysek Williams and the late Charles Williams. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joel Aaron Williams. Dean was a US Navy veteran. He was a registered nurse at Stephens County Hospital at Toccoa Falls. He was an artist, writer and musician. Dean loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Franklin Covenant Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn James Williams; two sons, Seth Williams and wife Alicia of Spokane, WA and David Williams and wife Summer of Kansas City, MO; four daughters, Laura Dailey and husband JJ of Spokane, WA, Sarah Mathis of Franklin, Miriam Villanti and husband Mark of Norcross, GA and Anna Houston and husband Chris of Franklin; brother, Charles Williams of St. Pete, FL; four sisters, Monica Watson and husband Tom of St. Pete, FL, Peggy Scheerer and husband Bill of Glen Carbon, IL, Tricia Grimes and husband Mark of Harvest, AL and Eva Hester of Harvest, AL; twelve grandchildren, Johnathon, Ahava, Moriah, Gavin, Thane, Aida, Madeline, Isabella, Ezra, Elle, Israel and baby Williams.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30 at Franklin Covenant Church. Pastor John Makinson will officiate.

Memorial donations can be made to the Smoky Mountain Pregnancy Care Center.
