Obituary
Dean F. Mashburn, 91, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007.
A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late W.C. "Charles" and Jennie Angel Mashburn. He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Jean Mashburn; four brothers, Avery, Furman, Clate, and Cecil Mashburn; and two sisters, Alice Gore and Jane Hardin. Mr. Mashburn was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked as a Lineman with Nantahala Power Company and attended Wells Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Agnes Stewman Mashburn of Franklin; one son, Kenneth and his wife Judy Mashburn of Franklin; one daughter, Linda and her husband Steve Cabe of Wilkesboro, NC; two sisters, Deeda Elmore of Franklin, and Lola Ferraro of Franklin, NC and Leesburg, FL; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 28, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Revs. Alton Dendy and Vick Greene will officiate. Burial will be in Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
