David Joseph Walsh, 56, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014.

Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he was the son of Virginia Fields Walsh of Hayesville, NC and the late Lorne Francis Walsh. He was a retired police officer with the Spring Valley Police Department. He enjoyed leather crafting; wood working and watching Fox News.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Amanda Carolyn Walker of Andrews, NC, Nikki McKnight of Oxford, NC and Jeremiah Paul Walsh of Sylva, NC; two brothers, Michael Walsh of Michigan and Daniel Walsh of NC; seven grandchildren, Ricky Walker, Daniel Walker, Joseph Walker, Joshua Walker, Samuel McKnight, Christy Anna Walker and Lorelai McKnight.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Red Marble Baptist Church. Brother Zachery Whitner will officiate.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
