David Walter Snell, 63, of Robbinsville, NC, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015.
Born in Savannah, GA, and raised in Panama City, FL, he was the son of the late Frederick F. Snell and Muriel R. Brendemuhl Snell. David graduated from Berry Academy High School in Newberry, SC and went on to receive an Associate's degree from the College of Central Florida. He worked at Caterpillar for 16 years. David was an Eagle Scout and received the Boy Scout's Order of the Arrow and was protestant by faith.
He is survived by his longtime partner, Joan Sluder of Robbinsville, NC and her daughters, Janet Crisp and Peggy (Alan) Carver, her brother, Johnny Sluder, her grandchildren, JT Grindstaff, Heather Farley and Kayla Farley Orr and hergreat grandchild, "Pap's little buddy", Zoe Beasley. He is also survived by one brother, Fred C. Snell of Franklin; one sister, Linda Rahija and husband Rick of Collierville, TN and one nephew, Bryan Rahija of Brooklyn, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Pastor John Brunner of Resurrection Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
