David Marion Sanders, 87, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Oscar Sanders and Lexie Beck Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Leo Sanders and Dillard Sanders and a sister, Dorothy Bingham. David was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Olene D. Hooper Sanders; Joyce Sanders who was like a daughter to David and Olene; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jay and Bernice Woody and Dorothy Knight.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 30, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Don Moffitt, Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Alton Dendy will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tom James, Jr., Darren Sanders, Doug Mason, Todd Sanders, Mickey Stockton and Junior Mason. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Woody, Bruce Sanders and Tom James, Sr.
