David Charles Maynard, 80, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016.
Born in Lorain County, Ohio, he was the son of the late George Washington Maynard and Clara Mahlke Maynard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Maynard; two sisters, Gladys Williams and Mae Belle Anderson and a great grandson, Riley Maynard. David was vice president of Lorain County Title Company and former entrepreneur in Macon County. He was a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church and Junaluskee Lodge No. 145,3rd degree Mason. David loved playing guitar, singing, macramé and watching the Atlanta Braves and Duke Blue Devils basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Horn Maynard; three children, Deanna Howard (Rick) of Charlotte, Debra Dills (Allen) of Franklin and Bill Maynard of Pekin, IL; one step daughter, Audrey Gray (John) of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Nicole Stiltner (Stephen), Krissy Howard, Nathaniel Boyce, Derick Maynard (Lily), George Maynard, James Dills, Rebecca Necessary (Jeremy); four great grandchildren, Gabriella, Destiny Stiltner, Landen Dills and Lenore Maynard; four step grandchildren, Kristen Houston (Isaac), Justin Gray, Ben Gray and William Gray; one step great grandson, Daniel Houston and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. David Crunkleton will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
