Dale Spencer Phillips, 76, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013.

Born in Avery County, NC, he was the son of the late Spencer and Ella Fae Woodring Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Phillips and Paul Allen Phillips and a sister, Barbara Brown. Dale was a member of Coweeta Baptist Church, where he served as Trustee and usher. He enjoyed golf and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne McGuire Phillips; daughter, Dena Davis and husband Chuck of Elk Park, NC; two sons, Maurice Phillips and wife Grace and Ricky Phillips and wife Angie all of Franklin; brother, Glenn Phillips of Butler, TN; three grandchildren, Daniel Davis, Mandy Taylor and Spencer Phillips; three great grandchildren, Terri Davis, Jacob Davis and Mason Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Frank Rodriquez will officiate. Private burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
