Clyde S. Cabe 98, of Sylva, NC, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Ernest Cabe and Maggie Mae Barron Cabe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Bishop Cabe; brothers, Wiley, Leon, Henry and Ralph and sisters, Mabel Potts, Annie Dee Cabe, Edna Cabe and Alora Alice Thompson. Clyde was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII; retired mechanic from N.C. DOT and was founding member of First Assembly of God, Franklin.
He is survived by four children, Glenda Coggins Green of Franklin; Marcia Gibson of Franklin; Ginger Seay (James) of Sylva and David Cabe (Cindy) of Belmont, NC; two brothers, Howard Cabe of Pensacola, FL and Ernest "Buster" Cabe, Jr. of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Bobby Coggins, Russell Coggins (Stephanie), Michele McCoy (Chad), Melissa Gibson, Merry Shipley (Logan), Casey Seay (Amanda) and Anna Evans (Jason); six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 20, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Barres will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Russell Coggins, Chad McCoy, Logan Shipley, Casey Seay, Jason Evans and Travis Mulcahy. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ayden Shipley.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
