Clifford Edward Harris, 76, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018.
Born in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late Wilmer Leeander Harris and Paulina Cornelia Garrett Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Clifford was a US Navy veteran during the Cold War. He was a master gemologist, owning Strauther-Harris Jewelers in Warner Robins, GA for 33 years and Stewarts Jewelers in Franklin for 13 years. Clifford was a member of the Rotary Club and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail Harris; three children, Brantley Harris (Michelle) of Charleston, SC, Brooke Sipe (Chad) of Canton, GA and Brett Harris (Stephanie) of Franklin, NC; three brothers, Larry Harris of Concord, NC, Ron Harris, Sr. of Cleveland, TN and Bob Harris of Duluth, GA; five grandchildren, Landon Sipe, McKenna Sipe, Madeleine Sipe, Wyatt Harris and Reed Harris.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Franklin, NC. Rev. Patrick O'Neal and Chaplain Vic Greene will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the VVA.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Franklin, NC.
