Mr. Clarke Ray Sutherland of the Clarks Chapel Community passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
He was born May 4, 1934 in Peabody, Mass. to the late Elsie Bertha Gwendolyn Bye Moro and John Donald Sutherland. He was enlisted in the Army National Guard from 1952-1962. He worked for Black and Decker developing patents in the 1970's. He also owned and operated his own consulting group in the 80's and 90's, CRS Consulting Co. Clarke was a member of St. Agnes Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Zella Ann Sutherland; his son, Glenn David Sutherland (Kathy); daughter, Gail Diana Sutherland; grandchildren, Laura Sutherland Doran, Lynn Sutherland Libby, Lee and Lacy Sutherland, Matthew Tessier, and Diana Aprea; great grandchildren, Nora, Matthew and Isabella and two unborn great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25th at St. Agnes Episcopal Church. Rev. Dorrie Pratt will officiate with VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108 performing military rites.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 23rd at Macon Funeral Home.
