Clarence Lester Norris, 77, of 46 Cody Road, Franklin, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, January 11, 2011.

The son of the late Alex and Beulah Rogers Norris, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Eloise K. Norris who loved and cared for him daily. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Bessie Mae Norris, L.T. Norris, and Elizabeth Phillips. Clarence loved his family and working for the Lord. He was a member of Franklin Church of God.

He is survived by three daughters, Gloria Scott, Stella Haire, Charlene Marcus and husband Hastel Marcus and their mother, Mattie Norris all of Franklin; four step children, Tony Young and wife Susan of Hickory; Rick Young and his wife Sherrie of Lincolnton, Sedonna Greene and her husband Eddie Murphy and Harvey Kephart and wife Cecilia of Murphy; a sister, Betty McCall of Highlands; four brothers, Bill Norris and wife Francis of Franklin, Harry Norris and wife Loretta of Scaly Mtn, NC, Joe Norris and wife Teresa of California and Jerry Norris and wife Elaine of Toccoa, GA; four grandchildren, Donnie Henry, David Marcus, Stephanie Bryson all of Franklin and Teresa Abel of Orlando, FL; six great grandchildren; eighteen step-grandchildren, twenty two step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15 at the Tessentee Church of God (House of Hope), Tessentee Road, Otto, with Rev. Phillip Cochran, Aaron Phillips and Robert Dryman officiating. Burial will be in Old Tessentee Church of God Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lester Norris, Kenneth Norris, Michael Norris, Leory McCall, Daniel McCall and Bryant Phillips.

Tim Norris, Ricky Norris and Johnny Phillips, Donnie Henry will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
