Clara Jo Waters Bishop, 79, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Dock Haynes Waters and Nina Belle Teague Waters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert David (Bob) Bishop; brother, Buster Waters and three sisters, Marie Truett, Jane Pendergrass and Betty Hoffman. Clara graduated from Evans Business College and retired from Zickgraf Enterprises and later worked at Bishop's Home Center. She loved being with her family and enjoyed quilting, flowers, was an avid Tarheel basketball fan. She was a lifelong member of Burningtown Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children, Martha Maney, Steve Bishop, Donnie Bishop and wife Janet all of Franklin and Susan McCracken and husband Ron of Easley, SC; sister, Edith Beaty of Gastonia, NC; brother, Hoover Waters and wife Betty of Poquoson, VA; six grandchildren, Cody Keener, Jeremiah Keener, Jennifer Bourcq and husband Paul, Sabrina Bishop, Brad McCracken and Lane McCracken; three great granddaughters, Kayla Keener, Alexis Keener and Natalie Bourcq and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19th at Burningtown Baptist Church. Reverends Randy Drinnon, Charles Stevens, Judson Hall and Vic Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
