Claire Florence Guenette, 85, of Franklin, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010.

Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa Derois Baron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Germaine DeMichele, Cecile Doire and Pauline Fontaine and a brother, Raymond Baron. Claire received her B.A. degree from the College of Education of Rhode Island and her M.A. degree in French from N.Y.U. She was a retired French Teacher from Medfield High School in Medfield, MA. Claire was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Franklin.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul Guenette; six children, Richard P. Guenette of Mass., Joceline Hayden of Franklin, NC, Elaine Guenette of CA, David R. Guenette and Michael J. Guenette both of Mass. And Julie Yamaki of PA; one sister, Jeanette Barry of RI; two brothers, Armand Baron and Robert Baron both of RI; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Caregiver Retreat, 125 Hyatt Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
