Charles Edward Reuter, 78, of Franklin, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011.
Born in Jenkintown, PA, he was the son of the late Peter Reuter and Madeleine Assal Reuter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Bartol Reuter who died October 28, 2009; a brother, Paul Reuter; a brother-in law, Theodor Bartol and a sister-in law, Barbara Bartol. Charles was a US Air Force veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He was a draftsman with the US Postal Service; a talented artist and carpenter and was passionate about politics. Charles was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
He is survived by two nieces, Susan Reuter Smith of Clarksburg, MD and Nancy Reuter of Houston, TX; sisters-in law, Lois Reuter, Catherine Coleman of Providence, RI, Dorothy Kiesel of Ambler, PA, Alice Horneman of Surprise, AZ, Genevieve Bartol of Summerfield, NC, Carol Bartol of Yardley, PA and Margaret McKenna of Newton, PA; brother-in law, Thomas Joseph Bartol of Philadelphia, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
