Max Parrish, 87, of Otto, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late William M. Parrish and Blanche Higdon Parrish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Perteet Parrish and a brother, William L. Parrish. Max was a meat inspector for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed raising livestock and served on the Macon County School Board for several years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Parrish and wife Connie and Sam Parrish and wife Lisa both of Otto; three grandchildren, Katie Parrish, Emma Ruth Odell and Matt Parrish and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Janet Green and Rev. Duane Corle will officiate. Burial will be in the Asbury UMC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Jones, Tommy Allen, Kirk Perteet, Rance Perteet, Jimmy Ledford and Wayman Waldroop.
