Charles Joe Kilby, 64, of Franklin, died Friday, October 15, 2010.

Born in Clay Co, NC, he was the son of the late Kneed Kilby and Frances Dereberry Kilby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Garland Ray Kilby, Bruce Edward Kilby and Kenneth David Kilby. Charles was a US Marine Corps veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Penny Hass Kilby; a son, Kevin Kilby of Otto; three grandchildren, Jessica, Kody and Tristen; two great grandchildren, Ashlyn Gail and Braden Gage and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 22 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
