Carrol Wesley Hyde, 88, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Born in Bryson City, NC he was the son of the late Ervin Hyde and Alice Medlin Hyde. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Monteith Hyde; grandson, Chris Lipe; and father-in-law, Clyde Monteith. Carrol served in the US Navy and retired from the US Air Force. He was a member of Cowee Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch football.

He is survived by his children, Denise Sales (RJ) of Fairview, NC, Samuel Hyde of Otto, NC, Mona Graham (Ken) of Franklin, NC, and Michael Hyde of Washington DC; brother, Luke "LD" Hyde of Bryson City, NC; sister, Sue Hyde of Marion, NC; four grandchildren, Nora Bugg Jarmon, Stephanie King, Bryan Lipe, and Amy Smith; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, November 16 at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Ronnie Branson will officiate. Burial will be in the Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
