Obituary

Carolyn Rebecca Pitts Sanders, 65, went home to be with her heavenly family, after a long battle with cancer on July 4, 2015.

She was born April 23, 1950, in Clayton, GA, to the late Edward and Dovie Carpenter Pitts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Dwayne Pitts and an infant daughter. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1968 and later attended North Georgia Tech. Carolyn worked at Ingles Market for 15 years and later was a dorm parent at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joel Sanders; son, Garry Green; two granddaughters, Rebecca Dovie of Franklin and Michelle Nicole of Easley, SC; sister, Patricia Bowling and husband Robert E. Lee of Wiley, GA; five brothers, Eugene Pitts and wife Letecia of Kennasaw, GA, Marion Pitts and wife Dene of Advance, NC, David Pitts and wife Kay of Clayton, GA, Glenn Pitts and wife Linda of Franklin and Harold Pitts of Otto; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Aubree of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Prentiss Church of God. Rev. Tim Hayes and Rev. Don Moffitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 Monday, July 6, at Prentiss Church of God.

Brothers will serve as Pallbearers.
