Carl G. Hughes, 72, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013.

Born in Aiken, SC, he was the son of the late Perry Collis Hughes and Leila Corine DuBose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara, Jennie and Carolyn. Carl was a US Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam War and was an active member of the American Society for Microbiology.

He is survived by his wife, Rosaland Hughes of Cumming, GA; daughter, Jennifer Hughes Crager and husband Andrew of Cumming, GA; sister, Alma McNeal of Augusta, GA and two grandchildren, Nicholas Oliver Meyer and Ryan Paul Meyer.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3rd in the Georgia National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, Greenville Office 16-A Brozzini Court Greenville SC 29615.
