Buddy Raby, 75, of Franklin, passed away, Thursday, January 17, 2013.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Joe Vernon Raby and Gertrude Gladys Roper Raby. Buddy served in the Army Reserves. He was a dedicated baseball coach and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Buddy was a member of Mt. Sinai Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Pressley Raby; three children, Tammy Blaylock and husband Donovan, Joey Raby and wife Sherry and Jamey Raby and Blythe all of Franklin; four brothers, Bobby Joe Raby and wife Joyce, Johnny Raby and wife Audrey, Russell Raby and wife Cindy and Freddie Raby and wife Jackie; sister, Helen Edwards; granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Raby and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 Sunday, January 20th, at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God. Rev. Mike Raby, Rev. Johnny Raby and Rev. Robert Dryman will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19th, at Mt. Sinai Assembly of God.
Pallbearers will be Gary Shields, CB Roper, Bert Raby, Billy Drinnon and Alan Allman. Bobby Peek, Edwin "Beezer" Turner, Lonnie Crawford, Eddie Raby and Gary Raby will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
