Brenda "Joyce" Cheek, 72, of Franklin passed away Friday, July 12, 2019.
Born in Macon County she was the daughter of the late John V. Cheek and Mary Louise Anderson Cheek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Crane. Joyce worked on an assembly line at General Motors until she retired and moved back to Franklin in 2005. She was a member of Prentiss Church of God and loved collecting roosters, red birds and angels; keeping her yard maintained; working her flower gardens.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Bonnie Watson (Bobby), Willie Jean Crane (Fred), Wanda Parrish (Bobby), Linda Turpin, Johnny Cheek (Stephaine Armstrong), David Cheek (Cindy), Janet Scott (Gary) all of Franklin; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Macon Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at Prentiss Church of God. Rev. Kevin Chapman, Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Tim Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Zachary Crane, Xander Crane, Braden Ledford, Jared Ledford, Bradley Parrish, Dylan Burt, Bryson Burt, Bobby Parrish and Austin Parrish.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Crane, Daniel Crane, Michael Watson, Matthew Scott, Chad Parrish and Everett Parrish.
