Bobby Joe Raby, 83, of Franklin passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Joe Raby and Gertrude Roper Raby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Raby; sister, Helen Edwards; and brother, Buddy Raby. Bobby was a member of Franklin First Assembly of God and loved to hunt, fish, and work in the yard. He was a huge Atlanta Braves fan.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Moody Raby; children, Mike Raby (Pam) of Franklin, Gary Raby (Lena) of Franklin, Sandra Raby Thorndyke (Dickie) of Lumberton, NC, and Michele Raby of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Raby of Scaly Mountain, NC; brothers, Johnny Raby, Russell Raby, and Freddie Raby all of Franklin; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and three step children, Patricia Taylor, Wes Queen (Sara), and Chris Queen (Gwen).

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, July 28 at Franklin First Assembly of God. Pastor Mike George and Pastor Jason Nicholas will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Franklin First Assembly of God.
