Bobby Lee Hartsell, 74, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Gene Hartsell and Ethel McCullar Hartsell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mac Perkins and two sisters, Steele Kearney and Virginia Grey. Bobby was a U.S. Army veteran; he worked as a lineman for many years for Nantahala Power and Light and retired from the Town of Franklin where he worked at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. He attended Prentiss Church of God; was a member of the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108 and was an avid football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Holland Hartsell; daughter, Beki Hartsell of Franklin; son, Robert Hartsell of Franklin; three brothers, Richard Hartsell (Linda), Gene Hartsell (Connie) and Scott Hartsell all of Charlotte and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Prentiss Church of God. Rev. Tim Hayes, Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Scott Shirley will officiate. Burial will be in the Addington Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108 will serve as Pallbearers.
